Year 11 Exam Preparation and Support

Year 11 Exam Preparation and Support

We are very proud of our Year 10 students and the effort they showed during their end-of-year exams. Their conduct and commitment were excellent, and we encourage you to take a moment to congratulate your child on their hard work. Exam results are available to view on the DPR.

At Heartlands, we are dedicated to helping every student achieve their target grades across all subjects so they are fully prepared for Sixth Form, college, and university. With just nine months until the start of final GCSE exams, this is a vital stage in your child’s education.

To support their preparation, we will be running a programme of weekly exam practice and afterschool revision sessions, starting the week beginning Monday 8th September 2025.

Exam Practice – Mondays (14:30–15:30)

  • Begins Monday 8th September 2025

  • Weekly sessions in tutor groups

  • Students finish at 15:30 on Mondays

  • Delivered in 8-week cycles (full schedule to be published in September on the HHS website)

Afterschool Revision Sessions – Tuesdays & Thursdays (15:10–16:10)

  • Begin Tuesday 9th September 2025

  • Tuesdays: English

  • Thursdays: Option X (until 6th November), then Option Y and Maths

These sessions are designed to strengthen knowledge, address misconceptions, and build exam confidence. In previous years, students who attended regularly made significant progress. Attendance is compulsory, and any student who fails to attend without good reason (while present in school that day) will receive a central detention.

We expect all Year 11 students to attend, work hard, and maintain a positive attitude. Our teachers are giving extra time and support to ensure every student has the best chance to succeed. You can find a summary here

Day
Monday  Exam Practice (14:30- 15:30)
Tuesday  English/Maths/Science targeted intervention  (15:10- 16:10)
Wednesday  Detentions
Thursday   Option subject X / Y / Z Intervention (15:10- 16:10)

Please note that Year 11 weekend & half term revision sessions timetable will be added here in January 2026
