We have five days left of learning with Sports Day on Wednesday and Rewards Day on Thursday. Every day matters, please make sure your child is there. We look forward to welcoming to school our Yr7 on September 4th. The first day back for years 8,9,10.11 is Monday 7th September gates open at 8.10!
Monday 13th/Tuesday 14th July
Lessons will taught as normal including important assessments and national curriculum coverage. Please make sure you reinforce these messages at home. Tuesday is also our Achievement Assembly day where we will celebrate excellence in our SEARCH values in each year group.
Wednesday 15th July
Is Sports Day in New River. Students should arrive here at 8.25am in PE kit or house colours with trainers, no crocs, no jewellery. Students should bring their own bottle of water. The stands where students watch from are thankfully in the shade. Students will be dismissed at 1:30pm directly from the stadium.
Thursday 16th July
Please check your messages to know which reward activity your child is signed up for and therefore when the should arrive at school. Whichever trip you’re on, uniform is not required but please dress sensibly for the activity/weather.
Friday 17th July
Normal lessons on Friday morning. students will be released from 12pm and the day counts as a whole day of attendance. Please make sure your child attends school to be able to say farefwell to staff and other students before a long summer holiday!
Start back
Our new Year 7s start back on Friday 4th September and all other year groups on Monday September 7th. This is a vital day for students to get timetables, understand important announcements and begin learning. Please make sure all holidays are completed by this date. We follow DfE rules which say you can be fined or face legal action for taking your child on holiday during term time.
