Please find below a link to the presentation from the Year 7 Parent Partnership Evening that was held on 20th September 2017. Parents’ of our new Year 7s were invited in to listen to some of the key support mechanisms Heartlands have in place and to take part in a discussion activity with school leaders. In the discussion parents’ were able to ask any specific questions they had regarding ensuring that their child has the best start here at HHS.

Tassomai – Letter to Parents/Carers & Students – Year 7

Dear Parents/Carers and Students of Year 7,

We are extremely excited to be launching an exciting new learning programme called Tassomai with Year 7 this year. The programme has proved highly successful in improving Year 11 GCSE results in the last couple of years. So what could be better than starting early? Your child will be given all their login details in Science lessons. All they have to do is quiz for at least ten minutes every day to earn merits and improve their knowledge and understanding. Please support and encourage your child to do so.

2017 Results

We are delighted with a fantastic set of GCSE results this year. Students have worked incredibly hard to achieve some very impressive outcomes which represent great progress. We are especially pleased that 9 students were awarded the new top grade in English Literature and 3 students in Maths; this new grade 9, designed to sit above the traditional A* standard places them in the top 3% of students nationally. .

We wish the 2017 cohort all the best in the next stage of their education and congratulate them on their outstanding achievement.

I would like to thank our incredible staff who worked tirelessly to support students to achieve these results.

GCSE Results 2017

19th July 2017Hill
Year 11 students are warmly invited to collect their GCSE results on Thursday 24th August from 10am until 1pm. Please enter the school via the Community Entrance. Post results advice and guidance will be available to students on the day in the Library.
Any results not collected by 1pm will be posted home.
Any Year 10 students who have sat exams early will receive their GCSE results by post on Friday 25th August. We do not allow Year 10 students to come in on results day so that we can focus on Year 11 students and their progression to Post-16 courses.
We look forward to celebrating another great set of results.

Details of the election and your ballot papers were sent home in bags on Friday 30 June. Closing date to return your ballot papers is 5.00pm on Tuesday 18 July.

Do you want to make your college/job/ apprenticeship application stand out from the crowd?

Simply complete the 4 sections of the Duke of Edinburgh program over a 3 month period:

  • Volunteering: undertaking service to individuals or the community
  • Physical: improving in an area of sport, dance or fitness activities
  • Skills: developing practical and social skills and personal interests
  • Expedition: planning, training for, and completion of an adventurous journey

For the 2017/18 Academic Year; we are giving a pilot group of 7 Year 8 students  the chance to complete their Bronze DofE Award.
