Facilities Site Supervisor – The Grove School

Facilities Site Supervisor – The Grove

Salary: SO1 (actual £33,073 – £34,120 per year)

Location: Haringey

Contract type: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, split shift between 7:30am and 6pm. Occasional evening working. 52 weeks per year.

We wish to appoint a Site Supervisor with an outstanding track record who is ambitious and is ready for an exciting new challenge. If you are self-motivated and enjoy working within a school environment alongside colleagues to help youngsters achieve the best they can then we would love to hear from you

The Grove is a brand new Special School for autism opened in September 2018, we will be providing 104 places for children and young people between the ages of 5 and 19 on the autistic spectrum.

This is a rare opportunity to be involved in the early stages of a new school. We support our staff with an appraisal model that encourages development. Our continuing professional development ensures that staff work together to improve their practice. We empower staff to deliver great service through a high expectations culture within the school.

The successful candidates will be responsible for duties including:

● Ensuring site security. Acting as the main key-holder and controlling site keys, routine and non-routine opening, securing all buildings and grounds as required;

● Activating, deactivating and testing automated alarm and bell systems;

● Acting on call for out of hours alarm activations;

● Planning and organising of cleaner/keyholder working hours to ensure that the school is, clean and secured and alarmed at the end of the day;

● Working to maintenance procedures and to Health & safety regulations; under the management of the Operations Director;

● Complete and maintain relevant mandatory Health and Safety training as instructed by the Operations Director;

Food and Textile Technician

Food and Textile Technician 
Closing Date: 10 a.m. on 27th September
Salary:  Scale 5- £24,693 to £26,520 pro rata actual £22,446 to £24,107        
Location:   Haringey
Contract type: 36 hours per week (pro-rata), Term Time only
Contract term: Maternity contract / October 2021

About the role

We require a highly skilled and qualified Food and Textile Technician to support the Design Faculty.  The post holder will, under the guidance of the Head of Faculty, provide technical support to the Faculty and manage the resources and equipment and hygiene and safety in relation to Food and Textiles.

The successful candidates will be responsible for duties including:

● Material and project preparation; ordering, stock control, assisting within lessons on a daily basis and supporting larger projects for KS4.
● Implementing high standards of hygiene and safety in and outside of lessons, and maintenance of equipment to ensure a safe learning environment for the students. Provide technical support to students where required to promote achievement. Responsible for updating risk assessments in line with safeguarding law.

The successful candidate will have:

● Previous experience working in a similar role
● Good practical skills
● The ability to work on their own initiative
● Good ICT and communication skills
● A passion for education
● An awareness of Health & Safety issues
