The UK is set to experience some very warm weather in the coming days! We are really fortunate at HHS to have a fully air conditioned building and so once in school we will ammend plans for lessons such as PE and make inside spaces available at lunch and break however most activities can continue without further mitigation.
We have outlined to students guidance on uniform and hydration Daily notices – Hot Weather
We outline:
- Blazers can be carried in communal areas such as playgrounds and corridors
- All other uniform is still to be worn correctly
- We strongly advise a water bottle is brought to school
- Water stations (we have over 15 throughout school) should be used at break at lunch to fill bottles
Parents please encourage students not to wear additional layers, travel to and from school on foot where possible. London transport gets very hot and very busy on days where temperatures rise: with an average travel distance of 0.9 miles most students can comfortably walk to school!
Take care
