Thank you to all those who responded to the consultation.
The aim of the change is to make things more simple and clear, and to return to the one-hour model of lessons. Therefore from September 2015, the school day will run from 08.30 to 15:00 daily (including Fridays), with a change from a 20 to a 30-minute tutor session each day. There will continue to be a split lunch.

We had only a few comments, mostly based around the length of lunch-time. We have been monitoring the lunch queue closely and working with the Junior Leaders to improve the way in which the lunch queue runs, and have managed to pare down the length of time the students are having to queue. However, we are also clear that a 40-minute lunch allows us to run a better and calmer school day all round, so this will not be changed. Thank you.

Year 11 Parents’ Evening will run from 4.30-7.30pm on Wednesday 21st January.
This will be the final Parentsâ Evening for Year 11 and the most important, as we will issue their mock results, current grades and predicted grades in the Year 11 report. There will then be an opportunity for you to meet with each of your childâs teachers to discuss how they can improve between now and the summer exams. There will also be important information about interventions we are putting in place to support students who are underachieving given out at this event. You may also have questions about college applications which we can help and support with on this date.
We have an appointment system for this evening and your child will be asked to make an appointment on your behalf with their subject teachers. Each appointment will last for 5 minutes and we ask that you keep to time. Your child will record their appointment times with each teacher in their planner so they should bring their planner with them on the evening.
Please arrive at the Community Entrance (via the car park) where you will be able to collect your childâs report and proceed to the designated area for your first appointment. We would suggest that you arrive 10 minutes early so that you have time to discuss the report with your child. It is compulsory that your child accompanies you to Parentsâ evening. We expect all students to attend in full school uniform.
If you need a translator, we suggest that you bring a family member or friend with you who can act as an interpreter. However, if you would like to request a translator, please email christine.raucci@heartlands.haringey.sch.uk with your requirements.  Please indicate your preferred time slot on the reply slip below and return it to your childâs form tutor by Wednesday 14th January. We look forward to seeing you at this important event.
